Happy Friday! Halloween is behind us (did you see the pics of our Halloween fun on my Facebook Page?), and I’m already getting excited for Thanksgiving! This weekend we will be hiding away the spooky decor and finding some new fun things to do in November. So, to get us in the mood – today (yes today!) the movie Free Birds comes out. It looks hilarious, and my kids (and I) can’t wait to see it!
More details about the flick:
In this hilarious, adventurous buddy comedy for audiences of all ages, directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!), two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the Thanksgiving menu for good. Starring the voices of Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney, Keith David, Carlos Alazraqui, Dwight Howard.
Let’s be honest: a movie with George Takei is already a winner at the get-go.
So in honor of another impending fall holiday and the release of Free Birds, we’re going to be making these Free Birds Hand Turkeys this weekend. Check out the fabulous Amy Poehler (the voice of Jenny in the movie) in the video below and learn how to make these adorable hand turkeys!
Simply email a photo of your hand drawn turkey hand! That’s it and you’re entered. Email your photo to email@example.com with FREE BIRDS in the subject line OR Instagram a turkey hand photo using the hashtag #FreeBirdsHandTurkey. You can enter as many times as you’d like with a new photo each time (must be different). You have until November 11th to enter. Winner will be announced on Make and Takes on November 12th!
Good luck friends! I will be peeking at the #FreeBirdsHandTurkey hashtag over the next week to see your cuties and their creations. Have fun!
