There’s something about story that makes us feel so safe, so not alone. Unique we become, while feeling the ties that bind. I read story to grow, I write story to heal.
Next week I’ll be attending the Blissdom blogging conference in Nashville. I’ll be speaking with Heather King and Cecily Kellogg in the writing track on “Critical Beauty and the Merciless Beast” about bringing the bold and the beauty and juggling not only those critics waiting to read, but your own inner critic waiting to censor. How do you push the literary envelope, find your voice and still keep the readers coming? Heck if I know, but I’ll be there to talk about it! Even though I’ve been a speaker a handful of times, my knees knock at the thought and I ask for your grace as I take the stage next Friday.
Beyond being excited to see so many friends that live far and wide, I am thrilled at the idea of being with like-minded folks to talk shop for a bit. Blissdom is my absolute favorite conference of the year, bringing not only valuable info but fun and relax time that this mama really needs.
I also have the honor of being one of the Writing Community Tribe Leaders at Blissdom, along with Amber and Sara Sophia. Follow #writertribe on Twitter to see what we’re up to, where we’re having meetups and for general tom foolery and heart-bursting excitement. Even if you aren’t attending, you can still follow along from home and even follow the #blissdom hashtag on twitter to find the other tribes and basically to just find your people. It’s so necessary.
I am also excited to be the featured writer at A Deeper Story today – a brand new site looking to talk about the hard topics of faith. At A Deeper Story we’ll be pushing the envelope a bit, all in love and with a heap of grace on top. It’s worth subscribing, so come take a look!
Today I’m talking about the amazing Martin Luther King Jr, his legacy, why the mainstream church ignores him and how his messages on Love are so earth changing. Click over and come visit for a bit.
