Story Bleed

Voraciously I devour it. Taking it in. Piece by piece.

Word by word.

I can’t get enough.

It’s story that always brings me in. Story that holds my heart suspended in the air, the glorious anxiety of it all, never quite knowing if my soul-muscle will come crashing down or instead take flight.

Oh, the agony and ecstasy of  a great story.

I’m drawn to story like I’m drawn to chocolate or an epic vintage find or my man or my God.  It’s magnetic.

This is why I was beyond honored to join the Story Bleed team this summer (as the Managing Editor and Print Editorial Director), when we quietly pulled together an indie literary magazine of epic stories and art.  We passed the magazine around in New York City, we humbly handed them out at events we attended since then, and we’ve been thrilled to the core over the love shown to this first preview issue of Story Bleed in it’s season of debutante.  Boasting talent from Pacing the Panic Room, The RunAMuck, Adventures in Babywearing, Her Bad Mother, Lisa Leonard, Amy Turn Sharp, Moosh In Indy and many others, we couldn’t have been prouder of our first issue.  You can still get your hands on one if you’re so inclined, visit Story Bleed to get your copy (click the sidebar magazine cover to purchase).

Now, the web version of Story Bleed is ready for the public, back in action with an all new editorial team, and looking for your stories!  We can’t wait to show you all the amazing work, the amazing *stories*, that bloggers have submitted to be shared.  Let’s get this ball rolling!

How about a little celebration?

Join the editors of Story Bleed Magazine tonight for a twitter chat on the art and elements of a compelling story, sponsored by P&G’s Thank You Mom campaign.
